Today, a comprehensive plan was released by the Governor to increase safety measures in our schools. The tragedy in Parkland was heartbreaking and it is time we take the necessary steps to protect our students. This bipartisan plan of action increases safety measures in schools and emphasizes and allocates funds to the mental health issue. I have had the privilege of watching students and parents travel to Tallahassee this week to voice their concerns and opinions. My heart breaks for what these families have been through and I am encouraged by the plan of action set fourth to make sure these incidents are prevented. Continue to keep these families in your prayers, and know that the Florida Legislature is with you and working hard to make schools safer. ... See MoreSee Less
Good start... there is much more that can be done via gun reform. Please 🙏🏽🙏🏽 listen to these dear young people.
If you aren't for outright banning the AR15 and take a dime from the NRA you are dead to me.
I have to agree with Jason Eugenides. More needs to be done. Nothing in the summary of this bill regarding gun show loopholes, private sales of weapons among citizens without a middle man who can ensure legitimacy of the buyer, nothing on minimizing magazine capacity, nor anything on restricting non hunting rifles such as the AR-15 and similar. Notice, I say higher restrictions, not bans.
